What is the unknown folder with bunch of letters and numbers. I get access denied.

i was going through my files on my computer and i came across a folder than was a bunch of letters and numbers... i tried to open it to see what it was and it kept saying acess is denied. why does it say its denied if im the administrator?

It's a protected system folder.

If it happens to be in the root of the C:\ drive - chances are it is a leftover from an upgrade/patch.

However, you are an Administrator but you don't have all the permissions to access some or system folders. For this purpose you need to take ownership of the file or folder to have access on it. Also remember that changing or deleting folders that are access denied may cause problems to your computer.
