What is AggregatorHost.exe?

Hello.

I found a task called "AggregatorHost", it doesn't have copyright or Microsoft signes. Is it safe? Its size is 314KB it looks strange!

That's all...

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

AggregatorHost.exe is a genuine process in Windows it may be related to Windows updates or the Insider program, there is no official documentation provided by Microsoft on that process, and it has never been linked to malware.

Where on your drive is the AggregatorHost.exe file located?

I'm replying here because it seems to be the newest post on aggregatorhost.exe, and is not locked like many others which incorrectly state it's some part of Windows Defender. It's the Microsoft telemetry aggregator. You'll find the service "Connected User Experience and Telemetry" controls this. In my case, it became active after I needed to download something that was part of the "Windows Insider" program. To join Windows Insider, they force you to enable telemetry and agree to send them such telemetry data via an "I agree" ToS checkbox.

It seems that nobody official or volunteer is willing or perhaps able to answer this, so I wanted to put it out there for the record. Because while it isn't "malicious" per se, some people may not realize that they are sending data to Microsoft via this service (presumably about "application compatibility", but who knows what that actually encompasses or what they have agreed to in a EULA or TOS?) :-/

The executable has debugging info in it so you can see the paths of the source code used to compile it. For example:

onecore\base\telemetry\utc\aggregation\aggregatorhost\exe\main.cpp

Dude, We need you to work on this forum full time.

I, as I imagine you are also, so disgusted with the things that pass for 'answers' to legitimate questions posted here.

My latest, and it's been going on for 2 years, is that all of the 'More Help' links on any product that's out of warranty (read:2 years) has had it's link redirected to the "click here to download Windows 11" page. This goes for any Office program to Visual Studio.
Then, as you mentioned, 3/4 of the forum posts with no legit answer are locked **** MS!

Have a great evening Scott, I think I speak for everybody when I say 'Thanks'

So, does anyone know how to get rid of aggregatorhost.exe?

I don't recall agreeing to join insider (although its possible that joining was hidden in some other thing (typical Microsoft "gotcha"), but how do I 'un-join"?
