"We’re updating Settings. It should be ready to use again shortly."

Whenever I attempt to open Settings it says "We’re updating Settings. It should be ready to use again shortly." and of course, waiting has done nothing.

I am on Windows 11 on the latest preview. This happened after I last updated this computer. It seems it is only on my main user account. As I created another test account to check. I have tried everything in this forum

Nothing has prevailed. I even attempted to use my other account to downgrade a version. Nothing. Is the only other option to completely reinstall Windows?

Unfortunately issues like this can be common with the insider builds as they are generally supposed to be for testing new features, and some existing feature can fail in that process.

I would recommend using the SFC tool to try and repair the issue.

ImageWhich version of the ISO should I download? I am currently on "Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview Build 26010.rs_prerelease.231201-1336. The others I tried said this. (see image)

This might be the difficulty here, unless you can get the exact version you are on this will happen because it's an insider build. Often you will not be able to get the exact ISO because they are updated so often.

I have and I was able to successfully restore repair my computer. However, it seems that this did not work either unfortunately.

Any fix? i try to delete immersivecontrolpanel on windows folder and re instal via sfc /scannow still not working

I went through the lengthy live support process and nothing he did worked. It was about an hour and a half of attempted support.

The conclusion unfortunately was that you have to completely reinstall windows (with wiping your data too).

That was the only thing that worked for me.
