Want to add my Microsoft 365 account as administrator on Windows 11 device

I setup my windows 11 local administrator account using my Outlook.com account but now want to change it to my Microsoft 365 account.

I have already added my Microsoft 365 account as a secondary work/school account but i want it to be my main local administrator account.

Hi Agile,
I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 accounts are essentially the same unless you consider the MS 365 account to be a separate work account. I assume it to be the case in the statement below:

I think your current scenario is good. The reason why is that your 365 Work account may have policies. If you make it your Primary account, it might restrict things on your device, like controlling Windows updates, Browser installations, etc. I have kept my work account as additional for the same reason, because the work account has Group Policies.

Even if you want to, make a new user account with the Work account from Setings > Accounts > Family and Other users. Delete the Outlook account later after you have signed in.

Hope that helps, and rely on us for any further inquiries. All the best.
Sumit
