walmart.com not functioning 100%

I do a lot of shopping from home because of health issues.

I use the Walmart site a lot and one evening it was working fine and the next day it wasn't. It hasn't been working now for at least 3 weeks. My account (that part) works fine. The problem I'm having is not dependent on or caused by my account because I don't even have to be logged into my account. I have the problem either way.

I have the problem on my Dell desktop with Windows 10 Home, and also on my Toshiba laptop with Windows 10 Home. I have the same problem on Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Internet Explorer.

Walmart says they had a bug but they did an update on their site to fix it on March 15th and it still didn't fix it for me. They are at a loss on what to do also.

I can't shop on the site because the search feature does not work. I can't use Walmart's search box, and I can't use their "All Departments" section to shop either. Now there are some real quirks to this and they follow.

I can go into a previous order and select "buy again" for an item I have previously purchased and it will be put into my cart.

If I know specifically what I want, I can do a Google search and if it brings up a link for Walmart, I can click on that link and it will take me to the product page, where I can then place it in my cart.

Often, when I first open the Walmart site, I can use the "All Departments" one time. It will work just once and then if I try and use it again it will not.

When you start typing something in the search bar a menu will give you options to click on to complete what you are typing in. It gives me the option but then will not fill it in. For instance, if I type in Revlon eyebrow, the menu will provide Revlon eyebrow pencil, but when I click on that it will not fill in that last word, pencil.

I have contacted my security program people and they have determined their program is not the cause. I believe that because I actually turned my security off and went online to walmart.com and the site still did not function.

I have disabled ALL extensions and tried and that did not help either.

I have cleared by cache, cookies, history, all of that over and over.

This has got to be something common to both computers and all 4 browsers and the only thing I can think of, since my security programs have been eliminated, and Walmart's upgrade of 3/15 didn't even fix it, is Windows.

BTW, I told you I shop a lot from home. In the last couple of weeks I have shopped at Amazon, JCPenney, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Sephora, Elf Cosmetics, JET, Menard's, Ace Hardware, ebay, Brylane Home, Puritan, Kohl's, Bed, Bath & Beyond. I have been to these sites any number of times. I have not had one problem with any of them. It is only with Walmart.

And I do get a page at Walmart that has Walmart in the left upper corner, and then it says,

Sorry ...

We are having technical difficulties and are looking into the problem now.

Try again    or    Go to our homepage

Is there anyone out there who had an idea for getting this fixed?

P.S. Walmart emailed me explaining that they had tried everything they could think of to get the site working for me and just didn't have any more options. They suggested that I open a new account and make all future purchases through that new account. So that's what I did; different email address, all new account. I got my welcome email and all that. So I do a search for floor registers 8 x 4 and get that same "Sorry" message that I reproduced above.

If you are still having issues try clearing the DNS cache on each computer with the issue:

Right-click the Start button > Command Prompt (Admin)

Then, at the command prompt type the following and press  "Enter":

ipconfig /flushdns

Thank you for this info, but this is another thing I have done many times already. I also clear the dns, close idle sockets and flush socket pools on Chrome which is my default browser,

I have no idea what happened, but yesterday the site started working correctly. I can only assume Walmart finally got it fixed. One function that still is not working is filling in what you are typing in the search box, but I can live with that fine.

Glad to see the site is working better for you. Thanks for letting us know.

I tried the search function at walmart.com and I found that it does not always complete filling in all the words right away in the search box however it does complete the requested search.

I just got another email from the community wanting to know if my problem was solved. I already let the forum know that it is solved; that Walmart apparently got things working on their end.
