w10 azure clients Local accounts not showing after 1803 update

After azure clients  update to 1803, the local admin account drops from the account picker at the login/lock screen. Only the last Azure user that signed in and Other User show in the user selection area. While logged into Windows the local user do not show when attempting to switch accounts from the start menu.

The account still shows under Computer Management/Users. User also shows under Settings/Accounts/Other Users.

Hi Maria,

Having the same issue, I have just spent an hour or more hunting around the web and found this answer:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c122b24f-b204-4c58-934b-830b67fd48e1/azure-joined-pc-no-longer-shows-local-accounts-at-login-scree-after?forum=win10itprogeneral

If your machine is joined to AzureAD, you can access the local account(s) by typing:
[localmachinename]\[localaccountname]
This will give Windows the correct path to access a local account.

Due to the scope of your issue which relates to Azure Clients , you would be best served redirecting this question to the dedicated

Try this registry setting on one of the PCs to test to see if it works.
If it does not then I would call this a 'bug' and would recommend that you send feedback to Microsoft.
Go to regedit.
Go to...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\UserSwitch

Set UserSwitch to 1 to turn it on

Reboot.

If the UserSwitch key is not there then create it and set to 1.

Now sometimes this will reset back to 0 so link below explains how to set a task to run to keep it at 1.

There is a Group Policy that controls the display of Local Accounts.

Under Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon

"Enumerate local users on domain-joined computers". Set to "Enabled".

We can't use gpos in office 365 azure active directory, but thanks for the help.

Now we have a new problem. Sometimes , in those computers that belongs to the Azure Active directory,  happens that no one can log in , not even with previusly used azure accounts, it  says that the user or password is wrong. It happens now and then . Last time I achieved to log in a computer , and when I reboot that computer I tried with three different accounts and it was imposible . Today in that same computer, I could login without any problem, so I took the occasion to get that computer OUT of azure active directory.

Now I have the local users to work with. But it is a pity that due to this bug in this version of windows 10 we can't use azure active directory any longer.

I have never been able to use that way of authentication with local users. I had used it with domains but doesn't work with AzureAD.

When I had some software to install, i had to give the azuread user and password (the one I used to join the computer to the AzureAD) or log in with a local administrator account.
