Vt-x enabled in bios but not working in windows 11

Hi,

I am trying to use virtual box but it is sayng that my computer does not support VT-x technology.

I checked in bois and it is enabled. How can I make it work?

I have alredy tried the folowing:

1)disabled vt-x tech. in bios, restarted the pc, shutted down and enabled again. Nothing happend

2) enabled Hyperv, restarted, disabled Hyperv and restarted again. Nothing happened, Windows 11 is still not able to us VT-x virtualization technology.

I have even used intel processor identification utility, and even that program sees VT-X tecnology as disabled.

I kindly ask your help because I am becoming crazy and I really do not know how to make it work.

Francesco

Same issue.. I can load windows 10 on the same motherboard / processor combo (core i7 12600k, MSI z690 pro motherboard) and the intel utility shows correctly with VTx enabled. If I boot into windows 11 however, I see it missing from the intel processor identification app.

Same issue here. In Windows 10, the intel utility correctly shows the instruction. In Windows 11 it is simply missing! I updated Windows 11 to the new version 22H2 and the problem still persists!! >:( . Asus Tuf Gaming B660M-PLUS D4 - Intel Core i3 12100.

I'm seeing the same issue on my Asus ROG Zephyrus with i7-12700H. I verified that Hyper-V was not installed, checked the BIOS for VT-x, EPT, and Hyper-Threading yet the Intel utility still reports those features as disabled and I can't install HAXM. Is this a Windows, Intel, or Asus issue? One of the main tasks I use this laptop for is Android development and without these features an emulator is painfully slow.

I was able to solve my problems regarding VT-x support on Windows 11 for VMWare virtual machines by following the steps described in this article:

"VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible" error in VMware Workstation on Windows 10 host (2146361)

The important step was executing the following command on a command line

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

which disables the Hyper-V functionality on Windows which takes over the VT-x feature.

I actually just made progress on this but followed a slightly different path. I used the "HVCI and Windows Defender Credential Guard hardware readiness tool" to fully disable HyperV by disabling Credential Guard:

After doing that, the Intel Processor Identification Utility now reports that I have Intel Virtualization Technology and Intel VT-x with EPT which allowed me to install HAXM through Android Studio. It does still report that I don't have Hyper-Threading support which is incorrect but at least some progress was made.

Hi...

This works for me.

1. Disable Hyper-V and Windows Hypervisor Platfform at "Turn Windows Features on or off" in control panel.

2. Go to Device Security --> Core Isolation --> Core Isolation Details --> Turn off Memory Integrity and reboot.

After that Intel VT-x and other feature were detected
