Verifying a 'Microsoft' Employee Who Keeps Calling

Mon. 02/17/2000 - Good evening. I want to verify that this person is really one of your employees. Their voice mail claims that I reached out for assistance, which I haven't done. Here's the info from the email they followed up with after I let all of the calls go to voice mail:

Derrick Childs  |  Lead Distribution Specialist, Microsoft Direct Business Sales

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***  |  (713) 322 8682 work

If he is one of yours, let him know that if I glanced at some cloud-based Microsoft products, it was just that - a glance. I don't need a sales call everytime I visit a website.

Thank you.

This is a forum of users and not Microsoft.

Microsoft will not call you unless you have called them first.

They will also not email you unless you have contacted them first.

These are scammers.

Hi Ms. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.

You've reached MS Community forums so we're not able to look into this, but we do advise not to trust anyone who calls you for tech support, as no legit support will ever call you.

But if this is an actual sales person who called you after your inquired about a product, did you leave your phone number or do you think they dug it up some other way based on your visit? This would be concerning.

Either way I'd block the phone number which almost all providers give a way to do.

Let me know if you have any further concerns about this. You can also call MS Customer Service here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/405170...
