Using Phone Link to make calls with PC headphones & Mic

I am struggling to get Phone Link on windows 11 to utilise the headset I use for my PC as the speaker and Mic for calls made/received in Phone Link.

All my drivers are up to date, I am using Astro A50s which work for all other aspects of mic/sound (these are wired to base, 2.4ghz wireless, so not bluetooth headset) and a Samsung Galaxy S21.

Sometimes when I receive a call, the phone notes that it is using the PC for bluetooth output, and I can hear the the audio, but the mic doesnt seem to work.

Would love for this to be resolved so I dont need to change headsets everytime I want to go from Zoom call to phone call.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Greg, sorry I should have clarified, the mic on my headset works perfectly in games and on the test etc. Just using Phone Link calls, it never picks it up.

I have the same issues. No headsets seem to work with the phone link app as its using the Bluetooth connection to export the sound from phone to the default laptop speakers and built in mic vs using a usb or Bluetooth headset so that there is no echo and you get privacy while making your calls. I cant seem to find a work around looks like its an oversight by Microsoft as I need to talk to clients on my second line and would like some privacy and for them not to here themselves with this aggressive echo from the laptop speakers. Have you found a work around for this?

Well after looking at the Microsoft phone link troubleshooting page I found this gem.

Why can't I use my Bluetooth headphones on my PC to get calls from the Phone Link app?

The Phone Link app does not currently support relaying a phone call from your Android device to a headset over Bluetooth.

Okay found a solution, if you have wired headset with mic built in you can plug into your phone it will switch to the headset if you select "send to phone " for the audio. No way to do it through windows, just use your phones headphone jack, or converter if you need for the new phone lol Now this means you cant use any headphones you want but its a work around!

clicking a phone number on the PC can call the number using the linked phone through Phone Link, but not possible with Samsung Flow.

These apps are super flaky. Given up with windows Phone Link due to it'**** and miss bluetooth connection. Not being able to use a headset plugged into the PC is another downer. Do any of the designers actually try to use the things they design?

I'm having the same issue too while using Arctis 1 Wireless headphone (connected to the PC via 2.4GHz, not Bluetooth). I can hear the caller/receiver voice through my headset clearly, but they are not able to hear my voice. It was working fine previously while using Your Phone app (predecessor to Phone Link).

Both the headphone and the attached microphone are working fine in games, zoom, or google meet, so the problem must be with the Phone Link app.
