Thanks for your interest, Greg. However, my edition of Word (2013) does not seem to want to setup Speech Recognition. Perhaps there is a conflict with the new update on Windows 10, which makes dictation easy - simply press the Windows key + H (while in the app you want to use with it). This works imperfectly in Word 2013, but it does work after a fashion (leaving too many corrections to be made). However, when I open the Windows accessory, WordPad, it works perfectly -- at least if I speak clearly and enunciate clearly. At least then I can copy any text and paste it into Word. For now, this seems to be my best option.

Amazing that the rudimentary built-in Word Processor that isn't supposed to be featured at all compared to MS Word, works better at speech recognition!
Did you give Dictate a shot? https://office-watch.com/2017/full-story-dictat...
I saw it demonstrated when I was on MS campus for Global MVP Summit a few years ago in the Garage Lab and it looked pretty impressive.

Greg,
My apologies for taking this long to get back to you. We have had internet problems for several days and I am just now catching up with online correspondence, etc. It seems that looking at the link you offered that it involves downloading an app. Since the recent update for Windows 10 includes an app for dictation, I am concerned that maybe the two are the same -- just that now "Dictate" can be accessed from the taskbar in the new version of Windows. And, that downloading what might be an older version of "dictate" will cause some problems with the newer version. Just wondering. I hate to mess up the Windows update. They have added some things that are very useful -- such as the dictation ability. Comments?
