USB2.0 UVC camera wont work on windows 10

Hi, i have a problem that drives me crazy and cant find a solution

I recently bought an Usb microscope. This device is plug and play and registers as an USB2.0 UVC camera, i guess is a generic driver for webcams.

This camera works flawless in Windows XP, Windows 7 and it worked in a versión of Windows 10 pro before the 1909 update. The problem is in Windows 10 1909. The device registers but after a few minutes it disconnects itself; the device remains connected physicaly to computer but Windows reacts like the device was unplugged (actually plays the sound of a device being unplugged and in Device Manager the device gets disabled and shows error code 45). this error happen in all computers with that version of windows 10.

And the software of the device doesn't work properly. While the device stills connected the software frezzes and doesn't respond until i unpplug physicaly the device or it disconnects itself. Other video softwares can't open the device and send messages like "Video filter cannot be created".

I belived this usb microscope  could be damaged, but today it worked fine in a pc with Windows 7

And yes, this device worked on Windows 10...i cant remember the versión of the update, but remember was something like 18XX….only know it wasn't the 1909 build

I tryed everything. Uninstall, reboot and replug the devide; update driver from Device Manager does nothing (the driver installed is the best for my device), looking for VEN&PID give me no answer from Google (i guess because the device dont need special drives); downloading and installing another drives for USB2.0 UVC does nothing; even i tryed chkdsk, scannow and dism and nothing

Please, if someone can helpe me with that i'll apreciate that

Hi Matt. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.

Try installing the device software and driver in Compatibility Mode, which tricks it into thinking it's being installed to the last edition of Windows that it worked on.

Tutorial here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15078/...
https://www.groovypost.com/howto/run-old-softwa...
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/win...

If the device manufacturer still exists then contact their Support to see if they have a patch or know of an issue. Makers of technical devices are usually good at Support. Then you'll know for sure.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to choose if I resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

I did that without results.

The software of the device comes in two exe. The first one is for XP version and the other is for Win 7 (i guess). Both of them have been installed with Compatibility Assistant and changing the compatibility mode directly in properties and nothing happen.

But i guess the problem doesn't come from software, because in the computers where the device works it install correctly without install any software. Doing the correct install of the device (Install the software first and then connect the device for first time) Installs the same driver (USB2.0 UVC Camera from windows), so i guess the software doesn't install any driver, only access to device as any other cam.

The folder of the software includes other driver in case of im using Windows 10 Insider, but when i try to update the driver and select this one, windows does nothing, or says the driver installed is the best for the device and install nothing or when i pick it from a list and use disk windows says that there is not a driver in the folder i selected. Unfortunately the company hasn't any driver update or some support, because this device use the video device drivers

I guess the problem is directly the driver USB2.0 UVCfrom Windows, because the plug and unplug error only ocurrs in the newest windows 10 build (in some computers the device takes time to unplug and in others is almost automatic, but all of them have this build of windows 10) in a pc with windows 7 or xp if the driver install automatic never unplugs itself like in Windows 10

Hi again Matt -

I'll give you everything possible to try for USB dysfunction which we see a lot here:

1) Try all other USB ports to compare.

2) Update your Chipset and USB drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page for your full model number, HP Serial Number, or Dell Service tag from the sticker on PC.

3) Compare the latest drivers with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

4) If no newer or this doesn't help, then go to the USB category in Device Manager, open each Enhanced, Hub and Host controller, from Driver tab select Roll back if available, or if not choose Uninstall.

If your keyboard and mouse are USB, first program the power button to effect the needed restart after Rolling back or uninstalling the driver. Go to Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings > Choose what Power buttons do to choose Shutdown.

5) For external hard drives go into Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button, find drive under Disk Drives, right click to Uninstall, restart PC to reinstall.

If that doesn't help then plug the external into another PC to see if it is detected, if so copy the files out to a folder on Desktop, return it to problem PC to Delete in Disk Mgmt and reformat as shown here:
http://www.wikihow.com/Format-an-External-Hard-...

6) Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

7) If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool and then choosing to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, and is also the most stable method to advance to the latest version. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. If you'll wait to rate whether my post helped you, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
