USB Headphones stop working randomly and sound bar becomes laggy (not responding)

I have this issue with my PC, sometimes I'm just using my PC normally and the sound on my headphones just goes off. No error displayed. When I check the sound control and try to play with the sound volume, the bar becomes unresponsive and does not play the sound it usually does. Everytime this happens, I have to restart the PC i order to have sound coming from my USB headset.

Notes:

- I can still listen to sound on my PC if I change the audio device to my monitor and the sound comes from my monitor.

- It's not a problem of my headset since I've recently bought another to try and fix this issue but it keeps happening.

- I tried updating my audio drivers but with no effect.

- If i try to reconnect the USB jack on the port I get an error message saying the device can't be recognized.

- My keyboard and mouse are connected via USB but they don't suffer the same problem.

Any help would be nice. Thank you.

Hi Carlo, thanks for taking the time to help me!

Step one didn't produce any errors to correct.

I can't do step two because my headset produced three audio profiles and i'm not sure I can update the drivers clicking either one of them.

I tried step three but when I moved the volume slider the window froze and became unresponsive.

I'm restarting my PC with basically only the -Uncheck the box to "Allow Application to take exclusive controls on this device"

About the system model, it doesn't say anything because it's a built PC. I bought the parts and assembled it.

Hey, I have a two year-old Asus VivoBook Max w/ AMD Athlon A6 (3 processors) with Windows 10 Home 2 64bit. Since about three weeks ago, My headphones ( not USB; utilizing Audio Jack ) work fine when changing volume, balance, or messing with equalizer. Plays music fine, if it is on my system. But, when I am online, sound is intermittent. This is the only problem I have had with this little cruncher. Any ideas?

BK

Sadly it didn't work Carlo.

I thought it did for a while but it just got back now all of a sudden. Do you have any more ideas? And Nvidea High definition audio driver reappeared.
