Is a Windows 2000 eligible for an upgrade to Windows 7? I assume that I will need to do a clean install, however I am not sure if the upgrade version will work when I enter the Windows 2000 serial number.
FYI: The recently released Windows
7 Product Guide (Appendix D, Page 134-135) states the following:
"To upgrade an earlier operating system than Windows XP (for example, Windows 95 or Windows 2000) you will need to purchase a full license of Windows 7 and perform a custom installation."
