Unknown local F drive on my computer, which I cannot excess or delete

Hello,

Since a few days I got a unknown local F drive on my computer.

When I try to open this I get the message excess is denied that I’m not authorised to get open this drive to see what’s on it.

I have no external drive connections going on, no printer, or external hard drive.

So what is it, and how do I get rid of it?

Here is a picture of trying to open the file; Saying “You have no excess to this file”.

And when I click ‘Continue’  I get the following, saying I get no excess;

(see image below)

 and offers to use the ‘security file’, this gives me no help; just information on how much is free.

Who knows what this problem is and how to fix it?

Thank you for your effort

Greetings Yvi

Answer

There have been several threads reporting the same problem recently. According to one user it cleared following a reboot.

The partition has always been there as it is part of the formatting required by Windows. The change is Windows appears to have assigned it a drive letter when normally it would not have one. You can use Disk Manager to remove the letter which will stop it displaying in Explorer.
