Uninstall McAfee Security system to Install AVG's security information.

I need to uninstall McAfee Security software so that I may download AVG's free security software.  I can''t install AVG's until I disconnect McAfee.  I tried this several weeks ago and couldn't figure out how to do it.

First go through the normal way, ie. Control Panel > Programs and Features, or Add and Remove > uninstall.
Then, use  McAfee Removal Tool to ensure no remnants of McAfee shall remain in the system :

Additional ....

If you want to use AVG, its your choice. I'd rather use Avast free Home Edition instead.
AVG will shut down your Windows Defender because it has its own defender. Running 2 defenders at the same time will create conflicts. So, if you receive message that Windows Defender is turned off. It's ok. Nothing to be concerned of.
