Unidentified network and switches to network randomly but still doesn’t work

I’m using Ethernet connected to the router

And Wi-Fi still works for wireless

My pc has been having this problem for almost 3 weeks. Where it went unidentified network for a week then randomly goes to network internet access, but even though it says network internet access it still gives no internet. The internet I used to have had around 100 mbps. But now it says:

Link speed (received/transmit): 10/10 (Mbps)

I’ve had this problem before after we switched our old netgear after it broke down, with a Wi-Fi extender. It didn’t connect to my pc and switched to the 10mbps instead of the 100mbps. But in reality when I used speed test it said 0.01 Mbps.

But now it wouldn’t even let me try to speed test

I have to use MS teams for school and I can barely work it with my phone, my teacher only has enough patience for me. Thank you in advance!

Is the PC's network cable connected directly to the router's LAN port or is it connected through the wall ethernet jack or through some other device? Are the router and PC in the same room?

Specify the exact make and model of the computer or go to Start, type msinfo and attach a screenshot of the System Information page.

Go to Device Manager expand network adapters post the screenshot.

Yes the pc’s network cable is connected directly to the router to the LAN port. The pc is in my room and the router is in the living room. The Ethernet cable wraps around the house on the outside before going back inside my room through a hole.

Also to go back to where I had this problem before, the problem fixed itself, I don’t know why or how after a week and a a half of unidentified network it got better all of a sudden. Which is why I ignored this problem cus I thought it’ll fix it self again, it’s the 3rd week so I sorta lost hope

Hi.

That network cable you are using, did you build and lay it yourself or did you buy it already wired and of a predetermined length?

To rule out a problem with the network cable, you need to temporarily move the PC into the same room as the router and connect it to it using another short network cable 1.5 meters long and check if the connection remains stable.

I bought the ethernet cable, it was around 30-40 meters long since it had to wrap around the house, I will test the 1.5 meter cable but I’ll need to buy another one. Since there isn’t much shops that sell Ethernet cables in my city I’ll just get it delivered.

I should also inform that the cable is probably damaged, I’ve replaced the cable around 10-15 times over the course of 3 years since it was either bitten, scratched, or flattened. If it’s the cable I apologize since it probably had nothing to do with Microsoft. The only reason why I didn’t think the cable was damaged because I just had it replaced less than a week fire the issue began

Okay… so I apologize for wasting your time, it was the cable itself, we did a check around the wire, part of it was dipping to the grater when it was bitten. I’m guessing rats, still thank you for helping and sorry again for wasting your time

Hi.

Don't worry about this, the important thing is to have identified the cause of the problem.

The LAN network cable is not suitable for outdoor use, not only mice but also rain and sun can damage it over time, I think it will happen again. You can opt for a different solution by purchasing a pair of powerline ethernet devices:
