Unalbe to login to windows "In Power Save Mode"

Original title: Power Save Mode

Hello
Went to work and think I shut down the computer as I was leaving. Have come home and found that the monitor screen is blank and the usual green power light is now orange. The power button on the computer is also now orange.
No amount of moving the mouse or hitting a button can change it
When I press buttons on the monitor a message briefly shows on the screen "In power save mode. Press computer power button or any key on key board or move mouse".   Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi,

1. What is the make and model of the computer?

2. Did you try to restart the computer manually?

3. What happens when you restart the computer?

Method 1:

I would suggest you to manually shut down the computer and restart it. Check if you are able to login to Windows. If you are not able to login, note down any error message you get.

Method 2:

Step 1:

Try to restart your computer in Safe mode and check if the problem persists.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If it works fine in safe mode try performing a clean boot to find the root cause

Step 2:

Refer to the article for steps on how to start your computer in clean boot state.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: Also, see the section on how to return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under “Reset the computer to start as usual”.

Let us know if it works.

Hi,

It seems that there might be a faulty hardware which is causing the issue. I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the system for further assistance.
