Unable to reinstall windows store error code 0x80073cf6

I am unable to install or reinstall windows store. It was unable to open then I used DISM and powershell but it corrupted most of the windows apps. The solution I got was posted on windows club. But after using I lost my apps like windows store, camera, photos, etc. almost 15-20 apps. I tried by creating other user account on my pc but there also these apps are missing and while uninstalling, it shows error code 0x80073cf6. Need help asap.

Hi Mansoor,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing problem with Microsoft Store and Apps.

Note: Basic information on Apps

1. UAC (User Account Control) must be enabled.

2. To access the Windows Store and to download and run apps, you need an active Internet connection and a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768.

3. To snap apps, you need a screen resolution of at least 1366 x 768.

4. Make sure video card driver is updated.

5. Make sure that Date and Time in your device is correct and up-to date.

Let's try the below steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: Try clearing the Store Cache:

1. Press the Windows key + R keys.

2. In the Run window, type WSReset.exe and click “Ok”.

Step 2: Run built in Windows Store Apps troubleshooter and check if it helps. This would also fix any issues with Microsoft Sudoku.

* Press Windows Key then type ‘troubleshoot’ and hit Enter

* Select “View all” on the left panel and run “Windows Store Apps” troubleshooter from the list and see if it works.

* Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Apply repair automatically”.

* Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process. Once done check if problem still persists.

* Follow the onscreen instruction.

Step 3:

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the Windows Store issue.

1. Press Windows Key+ R on your keyboard.

2.Enter the below command line on the run command:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

3. Wait until finished and then try to open the store again.

Let us know if the above methods helps to fix the Store issue. If the issue persists or you have any other issues with Windows, please do post it in Microsoft Community. We would be happy to assist you.

Hello Louis,

In this case we suggest you to perform Repair upgrade and check if it helps to resolve the issue. This issue could be due to Corrupted OS and performing repair upgrade is the best option. Repair upgrade will not delete or remove anything from your system.

How to: perform a repair upgrade using the Windows 10 ISO file

Let us know the result. We will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you.
