Hi Abi,

Thanks for your response.

Since you are using local account you need to have the password to login to Windows.

To understand the issue better please answer the following questions.
  1. Do you see sign-in-option in the Windows sign-in screen & what are all the option you see when you click on sign-in-options?
  2. What is the make and model number of the laptop? (To make sure
whether we can reset the laptop to factory setting)

You can try the following suggestion and check is it helps.

Try to login to safe mode and check whether you get PIN option to sign in

To boot the system in safe mode please perform the steps mentioned below.

  • At your Windows login screen click the Power icon (Right bottom Corner) which gives you options: Sleep, Shut down, Restart. Hold down Shift key and click Restart.
  • You get a blue screen with 3 options: Continue, Troubleshoot and Turn Off your PC. Click on Troubleshoot and choose Advanced Options and click on Startup settings and Click on Restart (which will enable advance boot options).
  • Once the System restarted you can see the list of advance boot options press F4 to Enable safe mode.
  • Check whether you have PIN option to sign in to Windows in this mode.
Note: After the troubleshooting, make sure to boot your computer to normal mode
