Unable to install Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 on Windows XP (KB2572067 ).

I have Security Update (Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1) KB2572067  just won't install? During install it stops about half way then fails? Every other security update installs with no issues or problems, just this ONE! Why is this happening. This is the first time I've had a issue with any security update. Why, just why won't it install????

1.     Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?

2.     Do you receive any error message?

3.     Are you using wired or wireless Internet connection?

You may manually download and install the update in a clean boot state.

 

Step 1:

Put the computer in clean boot.

After you used the clean boot to resolve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

a.Click Start, and then click Run.

b.Type msconfig, and then click OK.

c.Click the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.

d.When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.
