Unable to install latest version of WhatsApp to PC

I tried to update to the latest version of WhatsApp on my PC (Windows 10 operating system), but was unsuccessful to update. I uninstalled the old version of the app and am now unable to reinstall the app. I keep getting an error message (Code: 0x80070005). Please help!

Hi John,

Thank you for your reply. I am using Windows 11 Home, version 22H2.

Sadly, the above suggestions did not work. I would appreciate any other advice.

Hello nkc455,

Thank you for updating me with that information. If the issue still persists, please try performing an In-place Upgrade. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while your personal files, settings and installed applications will not be removed.

Few things to check on the PC

**Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
**Disable or uninstall any 3rd party Anti-Virus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

Download the media creation tool(Click Download tool now) and save it to your computer.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
Open the tool and select Upgrade this PC now.
Make sure to select Keep personal files and apps.
It might take some time to install Windows 10. Your computer will restart a few times, make sure you don’t turn off your PC

Kind regards,

I'm not sure I understand correctly - I don't want to install Windows 10. I am using Windows 11.

Hello nkc455,

Thank you for updating me with that information. I gave the instructions on how to run an in-place upgrade of Windows 10 because I saw you selected Windows 10 under the Forum Categories.

If you're using Windows 11, please try the link below on How to run an In-place upgrade of Windows 11.
