Unable to install a game from a CD.

Original title: How can I download a pc-cd game onto my computer.

 

I've put a CD game into the disk drive and nothing has come up, I've looked on the desktop and on Start but I still can't find the game to be able to download it, can anyone help?

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. The issue is that you are unable to load the game from the CD. We need more information to assist you in a better way-

 

 

1.      Which game are you trying to load?

2.      Is the issue specific to the game CD?

3.      Are you able to see the disk drive in “My computer”?

4.      What is the make and model of the computer?

 

 

Please try these steps as these might help us in resolving issues with disk drive.

 

 

Method 1: Run hardware and devices troubleshooter.

 

a.       Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.

b.      Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press ENTER.

c.       Select Troubleshooting.

d.      Click on view all and select Hardware and devices.

e.       Click next and follow the on-screen instructions.

 

Method 2: Update the drivers from manufacturer’s website.

Update the driver for DVD/CD ROM drivers.

 

a.        Press Windows + X, select Device Manager.

b.      Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives.

c.       Right click on each driver in the menu and click update drivers. 

 

 

Method 3: Place the computer in clean boot and check if you still face the issue as all the third party software will be disabled in clean boot.

Note: After the troubleshooting, make sure to boot your computer to normal mode by following the step 3.
