Hi,
Error message " Unable to save display settings" mainly indicates that you try to extend or duplicate the desktop to the external monitors. I suspect that the issue occurs because the it remembers both configuration for your extended monitor and TV. To extend your monitor, you need to clear the multiple configurations for your computer and then extend your display by changing your display settings. To do this, please take the following steps:
The manual troubleshooting steps in the above link tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection,
back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

Delete registry key.
a. Press Win + R to open a run box.
b. In the Run box, type regedit, and then click OK.
c. Locate the following registry subkey:
d. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MobilePC\TMM
e. Right-click the subkey, then, click Delete.
f. When you are prompted to confirm the delete operation, click Yes.
g. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.
h. Log off the computer. Then, log on to the computer.
Extend your display by changing display settings.
a. Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, and then, under
Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.
b. Click the drop-down list next to Multiple displays, click Extend these displays, and then click
OK.
