Unable to disable Bitlocker Drive Encryption on Windows 11

Hi there!

I was trying to change some settings in system configuration to help my computer run faster, but when I was trying to apply the new changes I got a notification saying how i had Bitlocker encryption activated and so it would cause my computer to go into recovery mode at the next boot and i would need to provide a recovery password. Due to this, I researched how to disable Bitlocker Encryption and then attempted to only to find out, when I tried to go to my control panel settings and find “Bitlocker Drive Encryption” menu, not only was it not there, but when i also checked in my settings in device encryption and i had seen the menu pop up, when i clicked on it, it had taken me to the app store and told me to download it. So apparently I don't have Bitlocker downloaded so I’m unable to disable it, but Bitlocker still has access to my computer and won’t let me make certain changes that i wish to make? I would extremely appreciate assistance on this issue!

Hi Ygummy, This is Ramesh.

If you use Windows 11 Home Edition, the BitLocker applet in the Control Panel will be missing.

Please open This PC and post a screenshot of the drives.

Also, open an admin Command Prompt and run:

manage-bde -status c:

Press Enter.

Post the screenshot here.
