Unable to autoplay and burn CD's using Windows Media Player.

original title: Suddenly Can't Play CD's

I am not able to play a CD.  I insert one and nothing happens (store bought or home made).  Media Player does not open and play a CD automatically the way it used to...At all...No Error Messages...Nothing!  And I am unable to burn CD's as well.  I noticed this problem began after one of two things...1). I installed iTunes which has automatically been adding purchased music to my Music Library...or...2). I ripped and burned an old home made CD.  I'm wondering if either of these things could be preventing Media Player from automatically playing discs I insert. Also, when I eject a CD I'm trying to play, I can see that it was spinning, but Windows Media does not open a window the way it used to.  I don't know how else to explain it...I used to play, rip and burn CD's, and now I can't.  Thanks in advance, Linda

Thanks...I tried all of the above and still nothing!  While running MS "Fix It" I noticed I now have a Drive F...I never had a Drive F before this problem...My CD's always played in Drive D...I have no idea what's going on...Very frustrating!

The only change I made was installing-downloading iTunes.  That's when problem began.  I was able to load music already in my music files to iTunes account, but I can't play or rip new CD's with Windows Media.  That's also when "Drive F" appeared in my computer settings.
