Unable to add PIN from account... because it requires my PIN?

Hi,

I recently performed a clean reset of my Windows 10 installation. I am now facing an annoyance where (on login) it asks for my account PIN rather than a password.

However I do not have a PIN setup on my account.

When I go to Settings -> Sign-in options -> Windows Hello PIN, I only have an option to add a PIN. When I follow the wizard, it first asks for my password, but then asks for my (non-existent) PIN to proceed. It does not give me any alternative authentication methods.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

OS = Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (x64)

Ver = 10.0.19044 Build 19044
