Trouble signing in to microsoft account

I can sign into my laptop perfectly fine, but every 10 minutes I get a pop-up telling me to sign in to to my Microsoft account so I can access family features. The sign in button on that pop-up as well as on Solitare Collection and Minesweeper tell me that they're signing in but never do so. Also, Word is telling me I'm signed in but can't access my account. This leads me to believe I am signed in and out simultaneously. Can anyone suggest what the problem is and how to fix it?

Note: This is on Windows 10.

Go into Windows Settings > Accounts > My Info, confirm it is an Admin account, then click the link to Sign in with a MS Account instead, put in your MS Account email address so you don't have to sign in piecemeal on each app which never turns out well.

Just followed your suggestion. It shows that the login I already use is my Microsoft account and an administrator. It appears that the laptop's login is my Microsoft Account, it just isn't syncronizing with some of my applications. Office fixed itself but Minesweeper and Solitaire still have trouble. Minesweeper tries indefinitely but only functions in an offline mode, while Solitaire completely freezes after a few seconds..

May be helpful to note that this has been happening for the past week or two.

Hi again -

Run the Microsoft Accounts troubleshooter at http://www.thewindowsclub.com/microsoft-account... which finds and fixes sync issues.

If not try signing out of the affected apps, restart PC, then sign back in.

If that doesn't help then try resetting the apps:

You can also reinstall the app in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features, uninstall app, restart PC then reinstall from MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > My Library.

If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, and is also the most stable method to advance to the latest version. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

The following screenshot is from the Microsoft Accounts Troubleshooter:

It tells me that the second issue is either a bad internet connection or the sync service is unavailable. I'm obviously connected to the internet so that shouldn't be the issue with syncing. How do I fix the problems described by the troubleshooter?
