Trouble downloading e-license for Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 Professional

When I try to download the e-license for Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 Professional, I get a message that states that there is no internet connection (which is untrue, my internet is working fine) and the message goes on to say that 'e-license download uses https, which may not work behind some firewalls.  If you suspect this is causing a problem, check your proxy settings...'  Can someone tell me if the https not working behind firewalls is the issue here, and if so, how to fix it?  Or if this is something else, any input on how to resolve this would be much appreciated.

thanks
