Touchpad Not Working on HP Pavillion.

So I have a HP Pavillion x360 14 which I bought back in 2020 and for a while now my touchpad had not been working. I use a mouse for everything. When I go into Device manager and under Mice and other pointing devices I can not see my touchpad like I could before. When I go into settings I can also not see touchpad under devices. One of the screenshots below is for what my touchpad looked like in device manager when I could see it. When this problem occurred previously I ran the SFC/scannow program and the problem was fixed for a few months but I no longer am able to successfully do it. As in the touchpad does not work even after running SFC scannow. I once asked this question before and was given a solution where I had to go through BIOS and do some things but that did not help. Instead I lost access to my account and had to make a new one. When I go into the HP help website and go to download new drivers I am asked to select my OS version mine is not an option. When I go into WinVer my version is 22H2. So I am unable to download new drivers for my touchpad from the HP website. Does anyone know what I can do to gain access to my touchpad back again? Sorry if I did not give all the information. If you need more info I will be glad to give it if possible.

Dear Khizar Fawad,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community!

I understand how frustrating it can be when your touchpad stops working, especially on a device like the HP Pavilion x360 14. Let’s work together to get your touchpad functioning again.

It’s possible that HP may not provide drivers specifically tailored for Windows 10 version 22H2 on older models, like your HP Pavilion x360 14. However, the good news is that drivers designed for earlier versions, such as Windows 10 20H2, are generally compatible and may help resolve the issue.

  • Head over to the official HP Support website and enter your device's model number to locate the drivers for your HP Pavilion x360 14.

  • Since Windows 10 22H2 drivers may not be available for your device, select drivers for an earlier version of Windows, such as Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 10 20H2. These should work without any issues.

  • Look for the appropriate touchpad driver—either ELAN or Synaptics, depending on which touchpad your laptop uses.

  • Download the driver and proceed to install it.

  • After installation, restart your device to apply the changes and check if the touchpad is now functioning correctly.

If the problem continues after installing the drivers and resetting the BIOS, it could indicate a potential hardware issue. In such cases, I recommend contacting HP Support for further diagnostics. They can help assess whether the touchpad requires repair or replacement.

If you need more assistance or have any follow-up questions, feel free to reply here, and I’ll be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and I hope these steps help resolve your issue!
