Too many keyboard layouts / repeating English keyboard

Hello! I just got Windows 11 and I'm a little bit confused with my keyboards. For some reason I have 3 English keyboards. Does anyone know how this can be fixed and reduced preferably only to one US English? Thanks.ImageImage

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Do the following:
Under "Preferred Languages", click on the three dots of the "English (United States)" language and select "Language options".

Under "Keyboards", how many keyboards are there?
You can remove a layout by clicking on the three dots and selecting "Remove".

Feel free to ask back any questions.

Hello David!

Under Keyboards section there is only one keyboard (US QWERTY)

So it is still uncertain why and from where I have two other English keyboards.

To fix this, you will need to make a registry modification. As always, I suggest you create a restore point first as a precaution.

Go back to the same key as before, and do the following:
1. In the left pane, right-click the "Preload" folder and select "Delete". Then confirm the deletion of the folder;
2. Close Registry Editor and restart your PC.

I just tried that - this method partially solved the problem; now I have one less English keyboard. Thank You.

However, I wonder, would that still be possible to remove/hide the UK Version of the same keyboard? Should I try changing the Regional Format setting?

I find it unlikely that this keyboard is configured in the language options of "Slovak". But check anyway.

How many keyboards are configured in the language options of "Slovak"?

In Slovak Keyboards options there is only one "Slovak QWERTZ" setting.
The English (US) one, too, has only "US QWERTY" enabled.

No idea from where the English (United Kingdom) comes from.

Also, after I deleted register file, now with a restart of pc, my keyboard layout panel is invisible for some reason.

I had to add some other keyboard variation in order to make it reappear (not sure if it will disappear again after another restart)

Thanks for the clarification.

I tried to reproduce the problem in my virtual machine, and I think I found a solution. You also need to delete the Preload folder in another registry location.

Do the procedure as instructed in the steps below:
1. Press "Windows + R", type RegEdit and press Enter;
2. Paste the following path into the address bar:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload

3. In the left pane, right-click the "Preload" folder and select "Delete". Then confirm the deletion of the folder;
4. Now, paste the following path into the address bar:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload

5. In the left pane, right-click the "Preload" folder and select "Delete". Then confirm the deletion of the folder;
6. Close Registry Editor and restart your PC.

Let me know the result.

I followed your steps and after the restart I still have the same problem with keyboard selection panel on the bottom right, it's invisible so I can't really tell how many keyboards I have.

So I tried to make it reappear again by adding and deleting another keyboard configuration.

After it was done, panel reappeared, I opened it and the list still consists of 3 English Keyboards and one Slovak Keyboard.
