__The remote procedure call failed and did not execute. Both Rpc are started in services

I have just managed to crash Windows Explorer and have received
the following error message (no error code provided);

Whenever I try and double left mouse click on computer, control panel
or any other windows processes I receive the above error message.

Both RPC services are running and have been restarted

Hi,

·        Does Windows Explorer crash when performing a specific task?

Since you have already checked for the services, try and check if the following steps help. Just make sure the Remote Procedure Call status says Started and set to Automatic. The second, RPC Locator should be set to Manual.

Step 1: Check Event Viewer to get detailed information about the problem. Refer the following links.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

Step 2: Temporarily try to disable the computer`s anti-virus program and check if the issue persists. If no issue occurs, then you might need to check for any updates and the firewall settings within the security software.

Note: Ensure to enable your anti-virus back on the computer after you finish these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. This is just to troubleshoot the issue.

Step 3: Try performing a SFC (System File Check) scan and check if that helps.
