"The references account is currently locked out", but I haven't logged in with an account on this pc.

I was setting up a new laptop, when I added my windows account it gave me an error, I restarted my computer and now whenever I type in my password it tells me: "The references account is currently locked out...", when I check my account on a different device it shows that I don't have any devices.

I'd love help troubleshooting this problem.

I'd suggest you reset the laptop and keep nothing then start again. Sounds like it got corrupted during the setup.

At the sign-in screen select the Power icon bottom right, hold down shift and select Restart. This should give you the recovery environment and show the Troubleshoot screen.

One of the options will be Reset.
