The code of execution cannot proceed because MSVCR71.dll was not found - how to fix this (read details)

I'm tryna download Ultimate Spider-Man the game. I get to the file that says USM.EXE and when I go to open it, I receive the error saying The code of execution cannot proceed because MSVCR71.dll was not found. I downloaded MSVCR71.dll from there I went to files, OS (C:) , then windows, and pasted MSCVCR71.dll into system, then into system 32, then sysWOW64. I restarted my computer and nothing had changed. I am running on windows 10, please share help.

If the above does not work, follow these steps:

1) launch powershell
2) Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
3) Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

If you've got missing or corrupted DLLs files, I wouldn't recommend downloading them from the internet as this is a common vector for viruses.

Please try the below steps to repair system files:

Run the System File Checker tool:

DISM:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/947821...

If that doesn't help, you can try downloading and installing the Visual Studio Redistributable which will contain the DLL:

The error indicates that a particular version of the Visual C++ Redistributable required by the program you are attempting to install is either corrupt or missing. In this case, MSVCR110 represents the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable. Other versions include:

MSVCR71.dll, MSVCR08.dll, MSVCR09.dll (2008 – 2010)
