Hi Martin,

Sometimes this error can be caused by trying to install application that is not compatible with Windows 7 or if the application is not installed correctly.

Follow these methods and check:

Method 1: First, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the application and check.
Uninstall or change a program
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uninstall-change-program#uninstall-change-program=windows-7

Method 2: If that does not help, check the compatibility of the application:
Compatibility Center

If the application is not compatible, then install the program in compatibility mode and check.

Make older programs run in this version of Windows

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

You may also check for error messages from the Event Viewer and post back the information.

Open Event Viewer

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-Event-Viewer

What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)?

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

Follow the steps and let us know if that helps.  If you face any more issues while working with Windows, do post on Microsoft Community Forum

Well see the application was not installed onto my computer it was a standalone app that ran without install. It just tells me the app failed to start correctly. I also searched the app on the compatibility center but nothing came up. Is there any other way I can fix this?

Hi Martin,

Thanks for replying.

1. Were there any error report shown up in the Event Viewer?

2. Do you face this issue only with this app?

As this is a standalone app, it contacts the app server directly.

I would suggest you to test the app by placing the computer in a clean boot mode.

To help troubleshoot issue, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. Just enable this particlar app.
