The Appearance of a SnapShot Folder

Hi Guys,

I was doing some house-keeping when I discovered a SnapShot folder in the Temp folder of ProgramData (please refer to the image below)

Image

This SnapShot folder contains a combination of files with .buf and .idx extensions which, according to the Internet, are Buffer and Index files.

Do you have any idea as to what Program could have created this SnapShot folder?

FYI, I recently also discovered three CISCO programmes on my Installed Programmes list. I have since uninstalled all three of them as I do not use SQL or any CISCO products.

My computer is protected by MalwareBytes and I will be running AdwCleaner shortly.

Regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew

That SnapShot folder is created by the SQL server that has somehow been installed on your PC, it is for folding snapshots of the database . . .

If you are quite sure that Cisco installation is not needed on your PC, then you should uninstall that and you can then delete the SnapShot folder form Temp . . .

Hi Andrew

that would have been installed as part of that Cisco Installation, once you decide you do not need that and remove that, it will remove SQl Server . . .
