Taskbar suddenly changed color to light

Hi,

suddenly and without any explicit action taken place, my taskbar color changed color from black/dark to white/light. How come?

And how to get it back to black without changing theme. (I'm using a Windows 5 images standard theme, see below.)

it looks like you have the new light mode turned on, go to settings (winkey+I) -> personalisation -> colours
under "choose your default windows mode" choose dark

I don't want my windows to become dark. I just want the taskbar to be black, like before.

This problem started after the update to Windows version 1903.

EDIT:

Today it worked to change color mode to Custom and then choose Dark as the default mode for Windows and Light as the default mode for apps.

I thought I tried that yesterday, but it did't work...

I've also have had some problem with the night mode feature which occasionally doesn't work. Something is going on here...

You have received the version 1903 feature update to Windows 10

Please try the following settings, if the option to change the color of your Taskbar is grayed out

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Personalization - Colors

Set 'Choose your Color' to Custom

Set 'Default Windows Mode' to Dark

Set 'Default App Mode' to Light

That should then enable changing colors on Taskbar . . . etc. the same as in all previous versions of Windows 10 . .

With regards to the Nightlight problem, this is a known bug in that update, many users have reported this to Microsoft

Microsoft are working on a fix for this big and will release a patch for that as soon as they have this resolved . . .
