Task Scheduler with error message The selected task »CreateChoiceProcessTask« no longer exists

I am running Win10 and every time I execute »Task Scheduler« I get the message The selected task »CreateChoiceProcessTask« no longer exists. If I am right, this process was a part of »BrowsersChoice« program in Win7/8 and is not a part of Win10. If this is true, can you tell me, please, how can I get rid of this »Task Scheduler« start error message? Thank you!

I have the same message. I try to find the task, as the support says, but I can't. There was no trace of it and the error message is still there. Any suggestion?

Like "Natsirt79" is saying »CreateChoiceProcessTask« can't be found anywhere in Win10 Task Scheduler. Can you help us, please, where in Task Scheduler is this task located or if there is any other way to disable it's pop-up notification?

This is not resolved.  The error indicates that something expects the CreateChoicesProcessTask to exist but it doesn't - so can't be deleted.  Please could you escalate this to someone who can resolve?

Same problem here! The task is not visible in the task schedule but there is an entry under C:\Windows\System32\Tasks!

I got a second similar error with Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager Task which is also located in C:\Windows\System32\Tasks. deletion of the task files has no effect to the message.

Hi diwie,

Download Autoruns and run it.

Click the "Scheduled Tasks" tab.

See if "CreateChoicesProcessTask" is listed there. If so, right-click the entry and choose Delete.

diwie,

Open a Command Prompt window, and type:

reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\CreateChoicesProcessTask" /s

Copy the output and include in your reply.
