System Sound Not Working

The sound when opening a folder has stopped working while all the other sounds including windows start up are working fine. I created another user account and there the sound does work but I want the sound on my primary account to work as well. Is there a fix? I've tried tweaking with the sound scheme already so please help me with an advance step. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS.

Hi,

 

Click on Start and go to Control Panel

Go to Hardware and Sound

Click on Sound and go to the tab “Sound” and select Windows default. Apply the changes and then test the issue.
