svchost.exe is using my microphone

how to uninstall svchost which is using my microphone ?
Hi thanks for reaching out! I'm Kyle M. a Microsoft Independent Advisor and a Microsoft community member like you. I'm glad to help you with your problem here are few steps to solve your concern:

1. hit the win key and type in "Sounds", open the "old" sound panel that way
2. Then go to the "Recording" tab
3. for all currently enabled devices, double click them, then go to the "Listen" tab and check if "Listen to this device" is enabled
4. if "Listen to this device" is enabled, disable it
5. if you want to be a bit more thorough, disable recording devices which you currently don't use by right clicking them and selecting "Disable" - you can always re-enable them later on

let me know if this fixes it for you - i've had the same thing show up for me.

Kyle M.

My system does not have a "recording" tab.  Even when I attempted to disable the microphone that was enabled to enable a different microphone, nothing changed with respect to the system showing "1 app is using your microphone."  In fact, it now shows that "2 apps are using your microphone."
