Survey-smiles.com, keeps trying to connect to my Win10 pc browser

Hi,

Survey-smiles.com, keeps trying to connect to my Win10 pc browser.

Confirmed by avast and avg as NOT a false positve

I'm using firefox, and chrome.

I have tried all the remedies offered online.

Cleard caches, browser and dns, using 'cmd', run, powershell..

Have removed and reinstalled Chrome...(as a Test).

I have scaned with a host of malware/ virus apps including but not limited to; my avast premium security, malware bytes, hitman pro, Adwcleaner, etc.etc. and nothing to show.

I have not found any unsual or unwanted apps.

No new extensions or plugins found.

I have pretty much tried all the remedies and the alert keeps coming up randomly; with no remedy suggestion.

Any suggestions and assitance greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi ,
Sabya here, Independent Windows Adviser. Hope you are doing well.

The survey smiles is a browser hijacker. It gets installed in your system and that causes the program to run in background.
Please try the safety scanner - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365...

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion, but didn't work.

Tried all methods, and still getting the avast alerts that survey-smiles.com is trying to connect and has been blocked.

Hi,
Really sorry to hear that. This generally happens if the malware gets attached to Windows system files as a child process so the antivirus is unable to detect it.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-ant...
The websites shown in that page provide free antivirus please check if any of them is able to detect or remove it.

If it is still not able to detect it then I would recommend doing a reset keeping your files. If you are doing a reset the applications are removed which will remove the malware however all your personal files will be there

Open Settings.
Click on Update & Security.
Click on Recovery.
Under the "Reset this PC" section, click the Get started button.
Click the "Keep my files" option.
Cloud download
Click the Next button.
Check the apps you'll need to reinstall after resetting factory settings.
Click the Reset button.
