STUCK! KB 4088776 update Error 0x800706be

Regarding your question, you can try one of the methods described below in respective order (please skip the ones you already tried).

1) UPDATE ASSISTANT
As a first troubleshooting option, please try updating through update assistant (use Update now and, if not working, Update tool -Download tool now):

2) RUN WINDOWS UPDATE TROUBLESHOOTER

3) MANUAL UPDATE THROUGH CATALOG
If the above doesn't work, please find the updates on the Catalog and manually download and install them:

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx

If this doesn't work, here is a list of several troubleshooting options.

4) RESET WINDOWS UPDATE

4.1 RESET WINDOWS UPDATE MANUALLY
a) Start –> All Programs –> Accessories –> right click on Command Prompt -> select "Run as Administrator". Type net stop wuauserv to stop Windows Update Service.

Wait till you get : The windows update service was stopped successfully. " (DO NOT CLOSE COMMAND PROMPT).

b) - Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
- Delete all files in "DataStore" folder
- Delete all files in "Download" folder.

c) In the Command prompt window, type net start wuauserv to start Windows Update service.

Restart your computer and try to get update again (this should fix the issue permanently).

If you are unable to reset Windows Update manually:

tried option 2 and 3 are failed, can't do that anymore

and option 4 too, i've tried it right before I posted first question, I think option 1 had same result too

Can you please type winver in Search bar and share the outcome?

i can't access the link in option 4.2, it say "can't reach destination" or so

i just realized, all fix tutorial are same, tried before I posted this whole question, and didn't fix my PC at all...

FYI, this OS was the second installed OS

the first before was the "pure Update" version from 7-->10, it too much error in DirectX

then I did Clean Install procedure (same harddisk) before this frustrating error happened

The update you are trying to install is faulty and sometimes claim it's failed but it's not.

In your case the update did not install, as I can see with your winver.

As this update is knows faulty, you can hide it and continue working.

I don't have any idea, what error exactly is this? even it can't install any updates at all..

Don't remember which one, but before this 2 updates was installed, I uninstalled some updates that I thought causing massive problem.

is it possible if an update would make insane error for next updates?
