Store - weren't able to connect, Error 80072efd

I have not been able to connect to Store since receiving my new 128Gb Surface Pro 2.  I have searched the web and Microsoft trying numerous solutions.  None work.  I have:
1. Double-checked my Microsoft login credentials
2. Executed wsreset.exe numerous times.
3. Execute a powershell command to assign system ownership
4. Created a separate, local admin login and tried again.
5. Check time and regional settings
6.  Check firewall settings to allow Store on all three network types
7. And a few other steps that I cannot recall.
8. Downloaded Microsoft's FixIt app an ran it multiple times

Nothing resolves the problem.  My Win 8.1 desktop at the office access store just fine.

Does anyone know if something that will fix this issue?  I am ready to return the Surface for a refund.

Thanks much.

Answer

Hi!

I've just solved this kind of problem on my laptop (windows 8.1). Windows store loading was failing with an 0x80072efd error code (WindowsStoreLaunchFailureV2 in windows application logs)

I finally found a problem in the HomeGroup section of the network configuratio. The system proposed to configure the network as a "Home network" : skype, windows store, mails and co are back!

I think that the problem was link to the fact that no network location was defined (Choosing a network location
)

(i'm quitte angry to have spend some hours facing this problem, trying to reset IE config, trying system checks, etc.)
