Sticky Notes separated on Taskbar

I just installed the new May 2019 update and it seems that Sticky Notes now are separated on the taskbar if you have multiple open which I am not a fan of. Is there a way to make them all grouped back together in one tab? If not, can we make that available for a future update?

This issue isn't getting fixed anytime soon.

Can someone recommend a replacement that syncs across computers?

Hello,

I tried to follow your instructions but did not succeed. I see several sticky icons on my taskbar now and it is very inconvenient. I tried to go to settings but it does not have that option to combine them Even if it lets you combine them on screen it still how's several yellow sticky notes icons on the taskbar and I would like to see just one icon. Is it possible?

Elena A.

Voicing my frustrations also - This is absolute madness.

It needs to minimise to tray and not eat my taskbar. I too am looking for a replacement util for this, hopefully someone who sees this thread has some idea.

Oh man, I feel this.

I wish MS would actually listen, almost ALL of their core OS apps are complete garbage.

Notepad, cmdline, stickynotes... All the stuff a "Mom and Pop" user will see first remain unpolished and irritating to use. No wonder everything thinks MacOS is so much better - It's not - But the default applications receive some serious love and care and as a result, gives a better impression of the OS.

What really bothers me is that this has been a known issue for over a year now and the team responsible for it just ignores customer feedback.   They are too busy on social media to do the actual work of identifying issues and getting them fixed.

This application used to be so useful and now it's just a sandbox for clueless programming newbies at Microsoft to mess with and leave customers hanging.

This might help for those of you still suffering. I just found it today after installing 1909, knowing it would break Sticky Notes (I had been putting off the install for that reason)...

https://winaero.com/blog/old-

This is the classic sticky notes app updated for Windows 10 32/64-bit. Not as much functionality, but I didn't use any of the fancy stuff MS added, I just used it to keep notes around my desktop and be able to pull them all up at once.

Seriously, more than a year and Microsoft is still not caring about us?

I honestly wish there would be a gaming, true alternative to Windows on a PC so I could leave Windows and anything Microsoft-related forever. I find this "we don't give a F*" Microsoft attitude very offensive and frustrating.

I have the same issue and it really drives me crazy.

Why a simple tool has to be so complicated? The original idea of this app is to replace the physical sticky notes. Looking at this app now, it has lost it's original concept. The beauty of this app should be it's simplicity. Just think about how we use and what do we need from the physical sticky notes. We don't need more than that.

If the purpose for updating is just to show you have done some work in front of your boss. Then better do nothing.

If anyone knows how to down grade the app or any other reliable replacement app please advise. Many thanks.

There's a link to a free app in this thread somewhere. It has the look and feel of the original sticky notes. The problem started when MS thought it would be a great idea to integrate sticky notes into Office 365 and store notes on the cloud so you wouldn't lose them if your computer died. Problem is they removed it as an standalone app.
