Windows 10 Pro, Bluetooth gamepad shows up as device #1 and device #2, device #1 is dead, need to remove it
I have successfully connected my IPEGA 9021 gamepad via Bluetooth. (Note that to reconnect the gamepad, one has to remove it from the existing Bluetooth devices, then do a fresh pairing. Every. single. time.)
Anyway, after connecting it and trying a few of its other modes, I went back to standard gamepad mode, and suddenly Win10 would no longer see the device.
I put the bluetooth dongle in another USB port, removed a few related hidden devices from the Device Manager, moved the BT dongle back to the first USB port and after restarting Windows and messing around, I was able to get Win10 to once again see the gamepad.
So far so good.
The only problem is that the gamepad is now connected as "ipega Bluetooth Gamepad #2". At least this is what it appears as in the device list of Project64 (a Nintendo64 emulator).
If the gamepad isn't connected, the device list has one entry: "None".
If the gamepad is connected, the device list has three entries: "None", "ipega Bluetooth Gamepad" and "ipega Bluetooth Gamepad #2".
Only selecting the #2 entry makes Project64 react to pressing buttons or moving analog sticks.
So basically the pad is now device #2 internally, and some games will no longer recognize it because they see and use "ipega Bluetooth Gamepad", which is no longer related to the physical gamepad.
dxdiag shows either no gamepad, or two, same es Project 64.
Can I somehow start over without reinstalling Win10?
How do I completely erase a bluetooth device from Windows 10?
