Solution for - Taskbar internet icon says No Internet.... "crossed out globe"

I am submitting a fix rather than looking for a fix. Fairly new computer with Windows 11 recently began showing 'no internet' globe in my Taskbar but I had perfectly good internet connection. Rather weird. After some searching, I found my fix.

Go to registry editor
Hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\nlasvc\parameters\internet
Open- enableactiveprobing

Change value data from 0 to 1 (if yours already has a 1, try changing to a 0)

Ok and restart

Hope this helps someone, it sure made my day! :)

Hi. I've had the same problem for the last 6 months and have tried everything found on the web to correct; remove and reset network adapters, update drivers directly from manufacturer (Intel), edit registry - you name it, I tried it and the problem kept returning anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks later. Looking back, I remembered the problem started when I updated my Windows 11 to the new H2 version. I went to my Acer website to see if an updated Bios was available and sure enough there was one that addressed the H2 update with a patch. I updated my laptop to the new Bios and now everything works fine again. I recommend you check for updated Bios if your problem returns.
