Small white box in upper left corner of screen

There's a small white box that has appeared on the upper left corner of my desktop, and it won't go away. I'm running Windows 10 on a Surface Book 2.  When I mouse over the square the spinning 'waiting' circle icon appears but I can't right click it or interact with it.  I'm wondering if it is some system process or spam program that is trying to hide itself.

Photo is attached.  Anyone know what the hell this thing is?

Ok, it took me forever to figure out what this stupid thing was but I finally found it.  It was Google File Stream which I'd installed a few weeks ago.  I have reported the issue to the G Suite team over at Google.

Nope, not a defect.  It was Google File Stream.  Nice try for the karma points though.
