Small white box in lower right of screen

This box just started appearing today. I have not installed anything new, nor run any virus scans until after the box appeared (nothing found). I also have not changed the background or made any other display changes. There are no action items pending either. I rebooted but the box came right back as a blank box. Now it has the odd charset info in it. Any help is appreciated. Thx.

The blank window at the lower right corner of the screen belongs to McAfee antivirus program.

We regret the inconvenience caused.

McAfee is aware of the issue and we are working on the fix. As a work around we request you to change the McAfee Firewall settings as below and update us the outcome.

  • open McAfee Firewall

  • Click Traffic Controller

  • Select Smart Access

  • Click apply

  • Reboot PC
