Silicon Power A80 on Windows 11

I have a Silicon Power A80 1TB external hard drive but am unable to get my new laptop running Windows 11 Home to recognize it. I have tried the tools available from Silicon Power but they report back that the device is not found. I am using a USB 3.0 adaptor since the A80 has earlier USB connectors.

Any ideas?

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

Could you use the Windows search tool to locate the Disk Management app, and then take a screenshot of what you see in there?

Kind Regards,
Elise

I'm having the same problem. @EliseM_465, I see that the OP didn't respond to your offer, but maybe my Disk Management screenshot will do the trick:

My external drive doesn't show on the device list, if that's what you're hoping to see. When I plug in, I get a message that the most recent USB device was not recognized. "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

When I plug it into a Win10 machine, it does work.
