sfc /scannow Found errors, but couldn't fix all of them

Hi, everyone.

As the title says, when I ran sfc /scannow just now, it reported that it found errors but was unable to fix all of them.  Here's the full output:

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

The CBS log file is on my OneDrive.  Here is a link.

The reason I ran the scan is because recently, I noticed that my right arrow key and some number keys on my numpad have stopped working.  I don't know why it happened, but it seems to have started happening after a recent Windows Update.  It's downloading and installing the update to version 1903 now, by the way.  So I think I got all of the updates up to that point.  Thanks in advance for any help for the problem.

Please note: I'm not sure if "Performance & system failures" is the right place to post this.  Please move it if it isn't.

Hi OsmanZakir,

I'm Stefano an Independent Advisor, here to help you.
If sfc /scannow can't repair some error or files corrupted, you can use DISM utility to repair your system image. So, once you have installed the latest update, please repeat the sfc /scannow procedure, then, if still exists the same message, follow this procedure:

1. Type "cmd" in windows search bar
2. Right click on "Command Prompt"
3. Select "Run as Administrator"
4. Type "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth" without quote and press ENTER
5. Type "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" without quote and press ENTER
6. Type "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" without quote and press ENTER

I did what you suggested and while the problems SFC found have been fixed, the problem I mentioned with my right arrow key and some number keys on the numpad not working still persists.  There are two number keys on the numpad that don't work: 3 and 5.

Then, if the problem persist, please try uninstalling and reinstalling your keypad mouse driver:

1. Press WINDOWS + X
2. Click "Device Manager"
3. Click "keyboard "
4. Right click on your keypad (or keyboard if you have the keypad on your keyboard)
5. Click "Uninstall device"
6. Click "Mouse"
7. Right click on your mouse
8. Click "Uninstall device"
9. Click "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)

Then check if that fixed your issue. If not, please perform a REPAIR UPGRADE:

If I do a repair upgrade, will I need to buy a new product key or will the one I already have for Windows 10 Home work?  And since that article talks about upgrading to Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview, is there a way to upgrade to a full version from it without having to spend any money?  Because I'll have to do this after all I think.

I also encountered a problem with BSoD, stop code KERNEL HEAP MODE CORRUPTION.

It works for Home version as well. The license will be automatically activated, because you install Windows over itself.
If you want you can perform the REPAIR UPGRADE using Media Creation Tool:

https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

Pick "Update Now" option, then "keep all" when asked.

Do I have an option of directly getting the full version, or do I absolutely have to get the Tech Preview?

No, you will get your actual Edition of Windows 10 (Media Creation Tool will detect your Windows 10 Edition and download the correct ISO file to perform the REPAIR UPGRADE)

I reinstalled Windows 10 while keeping my files and apps, but the problem still persists.  3 and 5 on the numpad and the right arrow key don't work.  This might just be a hardware problem.

I think so. It Is possibile at this point that the keypad Number and the right Burton of your device are broken. If you can try them on another device, to check if the problem still exists on other device.

hey there:

Let me ask you few questions.

first: What version of Windows 10 are you using? I remember in 1709, when I did the same scan as you, the result came back the same. This doesn't happen in 1803 and up.

second: Have you tried creating a new user account to check? It could be an issue with your user account, as it could be corrupted.
