"Select an App to Open 'UserName'" shows up when i try to uninstall an App

Hello!

As mentioned above i'm running into an issue with "Select an App to Open 'UserName'" showing up. I had this show up once after turning on my Laptop, but it stopped after deactivating autostart programs in task-manager.

Now i wanted to uninstall Discord, and this shows up again, leaving me unable to uninstall. I've looked up other options to uninstall discord, as it seems like this is not effecting all apps. Opening the Run dialog box (The windows that opens when hitting windows + R) i typed in %AppData% - and this threw me the "Select an App to Open 'UserName'" again.

I made Windows Defender Scan my entire System, and it hasn't found any malware.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

My Device:

MSI GF75 Thin 10UEK

OS-Information:

Edition Windows 11 Home

Version 24H2

Installed on ‎25th of January ‎2025

OS-build 26100.3194

Hi Aquila, This is Ramesh.

It appears that the %appdata% variable is not resolving correctly. Please open the "C:\Users" folder.

See if there are any extensionless files (having the same name as your account's first name) in the folder. If possible, post a screenshot of the folder.

Hello Ramesh, thank you for your help!

This is the screenshot you asked for:

As you can see the username is Alces. Because my system is in german, the first file's type is just listed as "file", while the others are .log textfiles.

I hope i didn't post this message twice, as the first one wasn't submitted properly.

Thank you in advance!
